14 years building digital infrastructure in Sri Lanka

What we are

A managed eLearning service provider.

There is no shortage of companies in Sri Lanka who will install an LMS or build a website with a course plugin. That is not what Balanita does. Balanita designs, builds, and manages complete eLearning systems — for coaches who want to sell their knowledge online, and for corporate training teams who need a platform that actually improves learning outcomes.

We are the only provider in Sri Lanka combining LMS platform management with digital sales funnel integration. Every engagement is treated as a business problem first and a technical problem second. The right platform matters. The right system around it matters more.

Who we serve

Three audiences. One company.
Different problems, same standard of delivery.

Balanita serves three distinct audiences. All three need eLearning infrastructure that works.
The problems they are solving are different. The standard they expect is the same.

You have knowledge worth selling. The platform to sell it is missing, broken, or holding you back.

Individual coaches and small training companies in Sri Lanka selling online programs — or trying to. You have students. You have content. The tech is the problem.

You have a training programme. The platform it runs on is underperforming, underused, or not delivering measurable results.

Corporate training and L&D teams running internal programmes or external certification. You have a budget and a mandate. The platform is not delivering the outcomes you need.

You run a professional academy, training institute, or higher studies programme. Your current platform does not match the standard your students expect.

Professional academies, language institutes, vocational training centres, higher studies institutes, and universities in Sri Lanka delivering structured programmes online or blended.

Our approach

We build systems. Not software installations.

These are the operating principles that govern every Balanita engagement — coach or corporate, Launch or Manage or Grow.

Item Commitment
We start with the outcome, not the platform
Most LMS providers install software and hand it over. We start by understanding what the client is trying to achieve — what transformation a coach wants their students to experience, what training result a company needs to demonstrate. The platform choice follows from that. It never leads it.
The platform is one component. The system is what matters.
An LMS without a sales funnel has no front door. A course without engagement design has no completion. A payment gateway without automated enrollment is a checkout with a broken conveyor belt. We design and build the entire system — platform, funnel, enrollment, onboarding, and reporting — so every component works with the others.
We manage the infrastructure so you focus on the work
After a platform goes live, it needs ongoing attention. Updates, security patches, server monitoring, performance reviews. We handle all of it through Balanita Manage. Our clients do not think about technology after handover. That is the point.
We measure results, not activity
Every Balanita Manage client receives a monthly written performance review. Platform health, funnel performance, enrollment drop-off, and specific recommendations for the next 30 days. Not a generic report. Platform-specific observations based on your actual data.
We do not start without a confirmed scope
Every engagement begins with a discovery call and ends with a confirmed scope document before any payment is made. No surprises during delivery. No scope creep without a conversation. This is how we protect both sides of the engagement.

The founder

Aneslin Bala — CEO, Balanita LMS

Aneslin Bala did not set out to build an eLearning company. He set out to solve a problem.

During his time studying in the UK — including work at the University of Cambridge — he developed his first LMS as a university project: a system for lecturers to manage their private teaching assignments and course materials digitally. What started as an academic exercise quickly became something more useful. The system worked. People wanted it.

That experience led to broader work developing LMS and ecommerce-based solutions, and then to a growing volume of client work from international agencies and organisations. By 2012, the demand was significant enough that he needed a team. Balanita Private Limited was registered in Sri Lanka that year and began delivering systems for clients across the UK, Australia, Germany, and Switzerland.

When COVID-19 shifted the world online in 2020, Aneslin saw at scale what happened when organisations tried to move learning online without the infrastructure to support it. Trainers uploading PDFs and calling it an online course. Corporate HR teams deploying open-source platforms with no customisation. Coaches trying to run enrollment over WhatsApp. The technology existed. The knowledge of how to use it to achieve an actual outcome did not. That gap is what Balanita LMS was built to close.

He holds an MBA in Finance and a degree in eCommerce, both from UK universities. The combination is deliberate — it is the same combination that makes Balanita the only provider in Sri Lanka who approaches eLearning as a business system rather than a software installation.

The company

Registered in Sri Lanka.
Operating internationally.
